TPM, Huawei, And TM To Drive Tech Commercialisation Via MRANTI 150 150 abenz

Techonology Park Malaysia Corp Sdn Bhd (TPM), an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Huawei Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd and Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) yesterday to develop the MRANTI e-Services platform to accelerate technology commercialization.

Mosti Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said MRANTI has been awarded a total of RM30 million in Budget 2022 to boost local innovation and speed up the use and development of technology.

At the MoU signing event, he added, “This will assist the government solve current difficulties, as stipulated in the IR4.0 policy.”

He went on to say that the government’s strong support has allowed more funds and financing to be channelled into the development of local companies, particularly start-ups, in raising standards and producing local innovation services, and changing the ecosystem from technology users to technology developers and creators.

“Through this collaboration, the three strategic partners’ expertise is synergized to create a dynamic environment where commercialisation services, technology expertise, and testing sites are provided to support the competitiveness and portfolio development of local technology companies in domestic and international markets,” he said.

According to him, the MRANTI e-Services platform will simplify the supply and demand of intellectual property, as well as innovative and technology products and services, and, more significantly, will match these solutions to global need.

“It also fosters the use of artificial intelligence (AI), software innovations, or locally developed software as a service to enable future technologies and produce more highly qualified and experienced workforce through technology knowledge exchange.”

“Mosti’s objective to build a digital solutions framework in driving innovation as well as promoting research results and intellectual property is in accordance with this three-year strategic engagement,” he added.

Meanwhile, TM One executive vice president Shazurawati Abd Karim stated that this strategic collaboration is part of TM’s effort to strengthen its role as a people-centric technology company that provides comprehensive digital infrastructure and solutions covering connectivity, cloud computing, data centres, and cyber security.

The MRANTI e-Services platform will be hosted at TM One Edge (Alpha Edge), which offers a full-stack hyper-scale feature and adheres to industry best practises.

“This can help local businesses expedite their digital transition while also promoting business innovation,” she said.

Huawei Malaysia VP Lim Chee Siong was also there, and he stated that the company was committed to continuing to contribute resources and knowledge to the sector in order to meet today’s issues and to help local businesses succeed in the digital economy in the future.

These businesses, he said, will help to boost the ecosystem and promote the country’s digital economy, ensuring Malaysia’s position as the region’s leading digital hub.

“This MoU is a crucial driver in giving local businesses a competitive advantage by equipping them with capabilities in business analytics such as Big Data, AI, and blockchain, allowing them to build digital advancements.” “Huawei Malaysia will continue to support the government’s aspirations for industrial transformation and the construction of more AI centres in the country while mentoring more cloud computing and AI talent in Malaysia,” Lim said.
