KUALA LUMPUR, DEC. 20 – Five start-up enterprises out of the nine selected from Technology Park Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd (TPM) were successful in their participation at the recently concluded Malaysia Commercialisation Year 2017 (MCY 2017) Awards and product commercialisaton launch organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation (MOSTI).
The MCY 2017 Awards and product commercialization launch were held in conjunction with the two-day Global Entrepreneurship Community Summit 2017 (GEC 2017) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on December 12 and 13.
Prime Minister YAB Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and MOSTI Minister YB Datuk Seri Panglima MadiusTangau presented the prizes to the MCY 2017 Awards winners.
Undergoing the extensive and integrated incubation programme conducted by TPM, the startup companies that won the MCY 2017 Awards were Anano Sphere Sdn Bhd, Therapy On Demand Sdn Bhd and Amiran Technology Sdn Bhd.
Anano Sphere, through Ananocoat™, a Nano technology disinfectant for surface and air-based on titanium oxide, clinched Commercialisation Achievement Award with a cash prize of RM130,000. AnanoCoat™ uses photocatalyst technology to decompose organic pollutants into harmless substances.
Therapy On Demand, an online market place under the brand name of “terapi.my” that connects therapist practitioners and consumers, bagged the Social Entrepreneurs Awards worth RM130,000.
Amiran Technology Sdn Bhd, a manufacturer of hydrogen gas generator as engine booster to increase fuel burning efficiency won the consolation prize of RM50,000 under the Commercialisation Achievement Award category.
For this year’s MCY product launching, the three commercialized products launched from TPM startups were MyMata by IP Infra Sdn Bhd, Environmental Monitoring System by Logikation Sdn Bhd and Terapi.my by Therapy On Demand Sdn Bhd.
TPM President and CEO, YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Mohd Azman Haji Shahidin said the three TPM incubatees selected as finalists for the MCY 2017 awards and three products launched have yet again demonstrated the capability and capacity of TPM to contribute and deliver the results towards achieving the nation’s aspirations in science and innovation.
“We are certainly happy and proud of the hard efforts put in by our incubatees and staff at the TPM Innovation Incubation Centre as well as our partners of the highly structured coaching and handholding programmes in driving the success. This is a result of the concerted efforts of all stakeholders, professionalism, positive energies and yen to always achieve the desired goals in technopreneur and entrepreneur development,” added Azman.
Logikation Sdn Bhd is an Internet of Things (IoT) company specializing in smart embedded solutions. Its Environment Monitoring System (EMS) solutions are built for homes and businesses. The product is designed to monitors environment from couple of sq. ft. to big areas, analyze it and feedback to the users in real-time.
The embedded system is designed to detect, analyze and provide response to the users from the alarms and failures detected by its built-in sensors in real-time. Most importantly, Logikation’s embedded system can be easily customized to other smart applications in IoT.
In the case of Therapy On Demand Sdn Bhd, its unique services is the two-way online communication or directory of certified medical therapy practitioners offering Shariah compliant therapy/massage. It has 850 pre-registered therapists and 50 active therapists.
Terapi.my is the leading online Malay certified directory that customers can gain access to IPTA/IPTS physiotherapists and Shariah compliance endorsement from related bodies. It has collaborated with the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Council.
Meanwhile, IP Infra Networks Sdn Bhd is the developer of MyMata, an innovative cloud recording surveillance system for homes and businesses, which does not rely on digital video recorders (DVR), memory cards or computers for recording. All recordings are stored in a secure data centre, or a “cloudserver”, for a week to a month.
