“We have identified key strategies that are required to achieve sustainable business growth not only for TMPB, but also for our customers. It is a win-win formula so that all parties will continue to enjoy the growth of recurring annual income and greater market penetration.

“To begin with, TPMB is currently on the drive of educating its entrepreneurs, NGOs and the business community throughout Pahang of its available facilities and services to empower grassroots entrepreneurship development in biotechnology.

“Our next stage of the programme is to heighten awareness on the importance of halal product requirements, Malaysia’s strategic advantage as the global halal hub and strategies of penetrating the international markets.

“Plans are also afoot to work closely with MATRADE for TPMB to organize international trade visits to assist entrepreneurs to gain international exposure by participating in overseas exhibitions to showcase Malaysian-made herbal products,” explained Husni.

On facilities and services of TPMB’s Halal Science Laboratory, Husni added that the company has invested an additional RM6 million in the last quarter of last year to upgrade its facilities, making it one of the most advanced halal facilities in the country.

“With our latest state-of-the-art halal lab facility, we are intensifying our halal services for halal detection and the development of new methodology. In fact, the method development has yielded positive results ranging from halal raw materials to finished products.

“Currently, we have developed a new halal testing method, through the MOSTI TechnoFund, that is able to determine the slaughtering of meat in accordance with the Syariah regulations,” he said.

In efforts to promote Raub, TPMB has also started to place home-grown products in strategic areas of the town under the “Bio Raub” marketing and promotional campaign so that those products could take centre stage as signature gift products.

The TPMB manufacturing facility in Raub has a monthly manufacturing capacity of producing 500,000 sachets and GMP productsof 50,000 bottles or 3,000,000 capsules and extracts 10 tonnes per month.

TPMB has earned internationally recognized accreditations with ISO9001:2008 and IEC 17025 certifications as well as being approved halal by JAKIM.

In addition, its functional food processing area is a HACCP accredited facility. All these accreditations, certifications and large commercial production capacity make TPM Biotech as the preferred choice for grassroots entrepreneur products and services.
