TPM To Host Data Recovery Centre Of UPNM/MYUNG Malaysia Collaboration

KUALA LUMPUR, APRIL 2 – Technology Park Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd (TPM) has been selected to host the Data Recovery Centre for the collaboration between Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) and Myung Inovasi Terkini Sdn Bhd (Myung Malaysia), a private Malaysia-Korea joint venture, for the development and application of new industrial software.

The UPNM-Myung Malaysia Data Recovery Centre will be the first data recovery centre ever to be located at Technology Park Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.

The collaboration between UPNM and Myung Malaysia aims to encourage and promote cooperation in the establishment of new industrial application software, in particular, for the areas of Data Recovery, Data Sanitisation and Vulnerability Test and application software development for ICT Tehnopreneur.

The cooperation also involves the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Defence Science and Technology and the Centre for Information and Communication Technology, UPNM and the Graduate of Information Security.

TPM President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Azman Hj. Shahidin expressed confidence that TPM would be the most ideal venue as it has all the infrastructure and research facilities to accommodate the needs of the UPNM-Myung Malaysia collaboration.

“We will be providing the space for research laboratory and encourage cooperation amongst software application in the new industrial application for the areas agreed between UPNM and Myung Malaysia.

“With an international name such as Myung of Korea located at our premises is testimony of TPM’s excellent infrastructure, capacity and capability as the leading technology park in Malaysia. It will definitely be a major boost to further enhance the growth of our ICT cluster whereby more than 70 per cent of our existing tenants are ICT companies and enterprises,” he added.

The latest collaborative arrangement by UPNM with Myung Malaysia is to enhance its capabilities in the areas of Data Security and Cyber Defence.     

At TPM, its ICT cluster currently accounts for 70 per cent of total incubatees with solution providers, software application and development, while interactive multimedia and entertainment form about 56 per cent of total incubatees within this cluster.
