TPM BIOTECH AND TWO TPM VIRTUAL INCUBATEES TO TAKE PART AT NEGERI SEMBILAN INNOVATION WEEK 2017

SEREMBAN, OCT. 30 – TPM Biotech Sdn Bhd, the biotechnology arm of Technology Park Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd (TPM) and two virtual incubatees of TPM Innovation Incubation Centre (TPM IIC) will be showcasing their products and services at the two-day Negeri Sembilan Innovation Week 2017 starting today.

The two virtual incubatees are Seremban-based Kwik Mandarin SdnBhd and Idefact Sdn Bhd from Negeri Sembilan. Both companies are currently undergoing the structured and comprehensive virtual incubation programme known as “ADVISE” offered by TPM IIC.

TPM Biotech, led by its head, Puan Ema Ukhtiah Zakaria, will showcase a wide range of services from ideation stage, incubation programmes, formulation, to laboratory services, contract manufacturing and final packaging. The team will basically share with existing and potential biopreneurs of the available assistance that TPM Biotech can offer in empowering them to sustain their businesses.

TPM President/CEO, YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Mohd. Ir. Azman Shahidin said the participation of TPM and its incubateesat the exhibition would be an eye-opener for the grassroots community to seize the opportunities from the various assistance provided by the relevant governmental Ministries and agencies to enhance and ensure sustainable development and growth of their businesses.

“TPM, as the enabler of science, technology and innovation (STI), has more than 20 years of experience in the cluster industry of ICT, biotechnology and life sciences, advanced engineering and renewable energy. It is our hope that the younger generation would take greater efforts in exploring business opportunities through the STI initiativesto ride on the next wave of global economic success by adopting the latest technology and innovations,” added Azman.

In the meantime, Kwik Mandarin will display their range of products and services related to an easy, interactive and effective electronic concept of learning Mandarin for non-native speakers through the Internet or E-learning.

Its founder, Zuraihi Maaz, who is an engineer and has taught Mandarin for more than 13 years, said the E-learning concept offers non-native speakers to learn the Chinese Mandarin more easily and faster than the conventional method.

“It is also relatively cheaper and offer much more benefits such as on-demand availability as well as self-pacing, which is vital when learning a new language. 

Meanwhile, Rafae Rauf said his self-funded invention is called NOMOCLO, a tool to solve sewerage system problems, including toilets and sinks. “It is clean, easy to use and efficient. It is currently still in the prototype stage and I hope to continue improving its capabilities”.

While further developing his prototype, Rafae added he plans to position his company as an “Open Innovation Lab” whereby the public will be invited to bank-in ideas to be commercialized.

Technology Park Malaysia Sdn Bhd, an agency of MOSTI, has an integrated infrastructure, facilities and support services to assist technopreneurs and entrepreneurs who are keen to commercialize their ideas in the four industry clusters, namely, ICT, Engineering, Biotechnology and Green Technology.
