TANGGA BATU, OCT. 28 - The Tanjung Kling Fishermen Family Community today received 10 units of innovative 40HP coastal fishing boats worth about RM300,000 that were fitted with the latest green technology Syn-Hybrid Gas Generator, from Technology Park Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd (TPM).

The green technology Syn-Hybrid Gas Generator was locally developed by TPM’s incubatee and technology startup company, Amiran Technology Sdn Bhd, at Technology Park Malaysia in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. Its installation onto the 40HP coast fishing boats was undertaken in collaboration with TPM’s engineering arm, TPM Engineering Sdn Bhd.

The project was developed under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Social Innovation initiative.

The 10 units of coastal fishing boats were presented by the Deputy Minister of MOSTI, YB Datuk Wira Dr. Abu Bakar Mohamad Diah to the Tanjung Kling Fishermen Family Community Chairman, Khairul Azni which was witnessed by TPM President/Chief Executive Officer, YBhg. Dato Ir. Mohd Azman Haji Shahidin.

According to Azman, the installation of the Syn-Hybrid Gas Generator onto the 40HP engine would offer fishermen a more sustainable power generation alternative compared to fossil fuel.

He said commercial fishing boats fitted with this innovative green technology would also enable fishermen to enjoy economic advantages in terms gaining a competitive edge, savings in fuel cost and efficiency, and higher operational productivity.

“Based on the countless test runs by Amiran Technology, it has been found that a fisherman would be able to enjoy cost savings of between 20 and 30 per cent per day which works out to about RM250 and RM500 per month. Such savings on the fuel can be contributed back to the community for operational and maintenance cost,” added Azman.

The Hybrid Gas Generator is a Oxygen-Hydrogen Electrolyser Technology which breaks H2O (water) molecule to Oxygen-Hydrogen gases to be burnt with petrol or diesel fuel in order to enhance the combustion rate in the engine upto 98%. This process enhances the performance of the engine and increase torque and speed, thus minimising fuel consumption with minimum Co2 (carbon dioxide) release to the environment.

Patented with MyIPO, the product enables synchronisation with any boat engine for economical fuel booster with high quality material and technology design. It is user friendly, easy to maintain and can be refilled only with distilled water or RO water for more than 10,000km per change over.

Technology Park Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd, an agency of MOSTI, has an integrated infrastructure, facilities and support services to assist technopreneurs and entrepreneurs who are keen to commercialize their ideas in the four industry clusters, namely, ICT, Engineering, Biotechnology and Green Technology.

TPM Engineering Sdn Bhd offers the full range of precision engineering facilities and services from design, prototyping to finished production on contract manufacturing with its advanced flexible manufacturing system.

Its precision engineering design and manufacturing solutions enable the local industry, especially SMEs, to produce high value-added products that enable customers to compete efficiently and effectively in the global market.
